Real Madrid have called for Javier Tebas to be removed as La Liga president after launching a furious response to his latest criticism of the club.

Tebas was against Real Madrid’s complaints about refereeing after their Madrid derby defeat , dismissing the club’s concerns and questioning the continued focus on officiating.

The La Liga president also appeared to take a swipe at Real Madrid TV, calling it ‘regime television’.

He also said, “When it’s not Negreira, it’s the referee. Take the blindfold off! Nobody with any common sense believes the same old excuse anymore.”

Tebas then doubled down several hours later, arguing that claims referees are being directed against Real Madrid amount to conspiracy theories.

“It’s easier to point to a conspiracy than to explain what is happening on the field,” he said.

Real Madrid responded around 10 hours later with a strongly worded statement, accusing Tebas of repeatedly using his position to attack the club.

The Spanish giants described his behaviour as ‘intolerable’ and said it was deeply concerning that the La Liga president was seemingly ‘obsessed with Real Madrid’.
