Serie A is on pause and will be for almost a month. The international break allows for some early assessments, even if after just five matches it’s still too soon to draw conclusions.

With the league on hold, it’s time for Serie A’s twenty coaches to get to work, making the most of the break and putting an even stronger stamp on their respective squads.

Grabara’s serious injury has reopened the goalkeeper emergency at Juventus . With the transfer window closed, the Bianconeri hierarchy is considering moving immediately through the free-agent market, as also confirmed by Spalletti : “ If we find something we like, we can go and get it without waiting for January .”

Among the profiles being considered, according to TuttoJuve , are Neto and Sergio Rico , both currently without a contract. The 37-year-old Brazilian already knows the Bianconeri environment, having played in Turin from 2015 to 2017, while the Spaniard has experience with Sevilla, Fulham and PSG. Juventus are also evaluating other alternatives, including Alessio Cragno , Jasper Cillessen, Bruno Varela and Vicente Guaita.

Gerry Cardinale commented on Milan’s situation after the opening matches of the season, praising the work of Ruben Amorim and the team: “ They were among the best 90 minutes of football we’ve seen. I want to congratulate Ruben and our players for continuing to fight in these first few matches before the international break .”

The Rossoneri owner then stressed the need to give the new project time: “ A new coach, with a new style of play and new players, will need time to find the right chemistry .” Cardinale finally thanked the Milan fans for the support shown during this transitional phase, reiterating the goal of taking the club back to the top.

The break comes at the right time for Cristian Chivu , who hopes to fully recover the three English players who arrived during the summer. Stones still has to shake off a left hamstring issue, Curtis Jones is still searching for top form, while Djed Spence has not even made his Inter debut yet. Three different situations, but one common objective: to use the next few weeks to have everyone available again when the league resumes, starting with the clash against Parma on 10 October.
