Liverpool have been linked with a potential move for Brentford forward Kevin Schade, with the German international emerging as a reported target as the Reds assess their attacking options.

Reports have identified Liverpool and Arsenal among the clubs showing serious interest in the 24-year-old, while Brentford have held initial discussions over a new contract. Schade’s situation is attracting attention as he enters the final two years of his current deal.

However, David Lynch believes Liverpool’s interest does not necessarily mean a transfer will progress. Speaking to Dave Davis on Anfield Index’s Media Matters, the journalist discussed Schade’s qualities and questioned whether his preferred position makes him the right fit for Liverpool’s squad.

Lynch believes Schade is a player Liverpool will have monitored closely, given his age and performances for Brentford.

“He’s a really good player,” Lynch said, pointing to the German’s development and what he has been doing in west London.

Schade offers pace, flexibility and the ability to operate in different attacking positions. Those qualities make him an understandable name for Liverpool to consider as they look at ways to strengthen their forward line.

Recent reports have added weight to the transfer speculation, with Schade making an encouraging start to the 2026/27 campaign. Sky Sports reported that he had scored three goals in Brentford’s opening five league matches, helping the club make an unbeaten start to the season.

Liverpool’s reported interest is therefore understandable. Schade has experience in the Premier League, is still at an age where further development is possible and could provide another option across the forward line.
