At Liverpool FC, Florian Wirtz certainly does not have an easy standing. The €140 million man is still searching for his absolute top form in his second Premier League season as well.

Both the English tabloid press and TV pundits like Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher make sure the German feels that on a regular basis.

"I don’t think Wirtz has been out of form since arriving at Liverpool. I actually think we’re seeing what he is," Carragher said in his podcast just a few days ago. Quite a few observers in England share that opinion.

But what Wirtz is actually capable of is currently on display in a Germany shirt. Against Serbia, the 23-year-old is clearly the difference-maker.

He set up the 1-0 with a strong solo run followed by a shot off the post, before scoring the 2-0 himself. With a gentle touch over the ball, he wrong-footed his Serbian opponent and finished superbly.

Scenes like these will do Wirtz good and will most certainly help him as well when he returns to Liverpool...
