In a recent report,  Diario AS stated that Arsenal are in the mix to sign Como defender Jacobo Ramon. It has been mentioned that the Gunners would have to compete with Chelsea in the race to sign the Spanish talent next year.

Ramon enjoyed a good run of form at the Italian club in the previous campaign when he put in a string of impressive displays for them on the defensive end of the field. The 21-year-old found the back of the net twice in 37 matches for Como last season in all competitions.

The Spanish talent is currently among the most talented centre-backs in Serie A . Hence, the Gunners would do well to lure him to the Emirates Stadium next year.

His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Arsenal to sign him on the cheap this January or at the end of this season.

Ramon is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to make some important interceptions for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer as well from the back.

Standing at 1.96m, the Spanish talent can use his strong frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his team. Ramon has proven himself to be a consistent performer in Serie A. However, only time will tell whether he can adapt to the high intensity of the Premier League if the Gunners manage to land him next year.

We can expect Ramon to add more bite and steel to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Emirates Stadium in the coming years.
