Real Madrid has issued a statement demanding Javier Tebas's immediate resignation as president of La Liga.

This follows a 'tweet' by Javier Tebas comparing Real Madrid TV and "its media outlets," as he calls them, to Goebbels's propaganda in Nazi Germany.

In response, the club said: "Real Madrid C. F. considers it absolutely intolerable and extraordinarily serious that someone holding two positions of the highest responsibility in Spanish football should draw a comparison with the Nazi regime's propaganda methods to discredit our club, its leadership and its television channel. The clarification that he is not referring to Nazi ideology does not lessen the deeply offensive, morally repugnant and institutionally unbecoming nature of his remarks."

Real Madrid then made its position clear on Javier Tebas's inaction over the 'Negreira case': "Given the failure of the two institutions in which Javier Tebas holds positions of the utmost importance to respond to the extraordinary seriousness of the Negreira case, our club has had to appeal directly to UEFA to demand a full investigation into the payments made over many years by F. C. Barcelona to the vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees, and the adoption of the necessary measures to guarantee the integrity of competitions."

Finally, the club formally demanded Javier Tebas's resignation: "Consequently, Real Madrid C. F. demands his immediate resignation as president of LaLiga and vice-president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation."
