In a recent report , journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their efforts to land Espanyol striker Roberto Fernandez. It has been claimed that Spurs are working hard to acquire the services of the Spanish centre-forward next year.

Fernandez has enjoyed a great run of form at the Spanish club in this campaign so far as he has put in a run of productive displays for them on the offensive end of the field. The Spanish talent has banged in six goals in seven matches for Espanyol this season in all competitions.

The 24-year-old is currently among the most talented forwards in La Liga . Hence, the North London club would do well to get a deal done for him in 2027.

Fernandez’s current contract at Espanyol will run out in the summer of 2031, which could make it difficult for Tottenham to land him on a cut-price deal next year.

Fernandez can engineer some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has the eye to create the odd chance for his teammates to score and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

Standing at 1.86m, the Spanish sensation can use his robust frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his team and can contribute by scoring a lot of important goals in the final third. Fernandez is primarily a centre-forward but can also serve as a winger on either flank if needed. However, there are some concerns on whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if Spurs manage to bring him to North London next year.

We can expect Fernandez to bring more quality and depth to Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s frontline. He is capable of challenging for a regular first-team spot at the London club.
