In a recent report , journalist Pete O’Rourke offered an update on Tottenham Hotspur and their pursuit of Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae. It has been mentioned that Spurs are keen on acquiring the services of the South Korean talent, but the Munich outfit are unwilling to let him go this January.

Min-jae enjoyed a good run of form at the Munich club in the previous campaign when he put in a run of impressive displays for them on the defensive end of the field. The South Korea international found the back of the net once and earned one assist in 37 matches for Bayern Munich last season across all fronts.

The 29-year-old is currently among the most talented central defenders in the Bundesliga . Hence, Spurs would do well to get a deal over the line for him next year.

His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Tottenham to land him on a cut-price deal this January or at the end of this season.

Min-jae is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his team on the defensive end of the pitch. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and excels at playing his way out from the back.

Standing at 1.90m, the South Korea international is a strong presence in the air as well. Min-jae can even chip in by scoring the odd goal for his side. However, only time will tell whether he can adapt to the high intensity of the Premier League if Spurs manage to sign him next year.

We can expect Min-jae to add more bite and steel to Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi’s defence. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the North London club in the coming years.
